Lancôme is a French luxury perfumes and cosmetics house, that was founded by Armand Petitjean, in 1935, in France. Lancôme started as a perfume company, and later expanded into the market of cosmetics and skin care products for men and women. The brand, became from a French perfume house for refined clients to one of the largest luxury skin care companies in the world, that distributes products internationally. Lancôme got its name from the ruins of a castle, which was called "Le Château de Lancosme", while its symbol got its name from the roses that surround the castle.
