Lacoste is a French fashion house that was founded by tennis player René Lacoste and entrepreneur Andre Gillier, in 1933, in France. Lacoste sells clothing, footwear, sportswear, eyewear, leather goods, perfume, towels and watches. The brand was named after one of its founders, René Lacoste. René Lacoste, had the nickname "the Crocodile" which was given to him by his fans due to his tenacity on the tennis court. The brand can be recognized by the green crocodile logo. Lacoste started creating and distributing shoes, watches, sunglasses and perfumes in the 1980s. Lacoste for Men was the first perfume of the house which was released in 1984. Since then, a number of women's and men's perfumes have been released.
