Balenciaga is a luxury fashion house established in 1919 by Cristóbal Balenciaga. The designer, opened his first haute couture House in San Sebastian, Spain. After the Spanish Civil War, in 1937, Balenciaga relocated to France where they opened a boutique store in Paris. In the post-war era, Balenciaga began using sleek, linear lines that deviated from Christian Dior's hourglass shape, that was popular at the time. The Spanish brand, Balenciaga is most known for revolutionizing women’s fashion with unique and beautiful shapes that no one had ever seen. The first Balenciaga perfume was introduced under the name Le Dix, in 1947. The perfume was named after the address of Balenciaga's boutique in Paris.
