4711 is a German, luxury fragrance house founded by Wilhelm Mülhens in 1792. Legend has it that Mülhens received a secret recipe for "aqua mirabilis" from a Carthusian monk as a wedding gift. Thereafter Mülhens set up a small factory in Cologne's Glockengasse 4711 and began to manufacture the brew. The house number became the company's trademark. 4711 commands over two centuries of history and thus boasts great expertise in the world of fragrance!
