Light Blue needs no introduction, and you can probably pull its scent from memory. For one, its vibrant lemon and green apple notes are instantly recognisable, with a drydown featuring jasmine, amber, and musk that reminds us of a slow weekend in the summer. Speaking of summer, our pick for the season is Light Blue, which sticks to the skin like glue despite the unforgiving heat.
This fresh, aquatic fragrance, whose name means ‘water of joy’ captures the simple happiness of a soft sea breeze, bringing forward a sensual blend of cool mint, warm brown sugar and the zest of Italian lemon. Heart notes emerge with beautiful floral hints of jasmine, dew of peony and traces of pink pepper. The base lingers on a uniquely Mediterranean trail of cedar wood and the complex herbaceous accords of labdanum.
Smells like a sensuous sun-drenched endless summer with the alluring sweetness of a coconut-based sun lotion with notes of bergamot, amber, musk, jasmine, citrus, tiare flower, and warm vanilla.
If you are familiar with the Guerlain Terracotta bronzer line, then you will be no stranger to its cult status. This perfume was launched to celebrate the line’s 30th anniversary. Resident perfumer for Guerlain, Thierry Wasser describes the scent as “the allure of the sun in a bottle.” The opening comprises of solar floral notes such a jasmine, tiare flower and ylang-ylang that lead to a musky and sweet coconut. Unlike the rest though, this isn’t juvenile in any way as Thierry made sure to add earthiness to his white flowers, giving them dark and mysterious nuances whilst still being sunny.
Spritzing this mandarin, apricot nectar and sandalwood scent will impart feelings of warmth and relaxation.
Like a tropical paradise!
